The normal Team Go Rocket event perks are available for this event: Every three hours, Team Go Rocket balloons will appear, and you can use Charged TMs to make shadow Pokémon no longer have the move Frustration.

Giovanni and all of the Team Go Rocket captains also have updated Pokémon lineups.

Additionally added to this event is Varoom, a non-shadow Pokémon that can hatch from eggs that are 12 kilometres away.

The complete list of event benefits and Timed Research for Pokémon Go’s “Taken Treasures” event is shown below.

It is a ticketed research only. The cost of the research in the store is $4.99. Because this research is time-sensitive, we don’t really think it’s worth it. Purchasing it is only worthwhile if you truly want to strike the unique stance that comes with finishing it.

Be aware that you will forfeit the incentives if you do not complete this research by February 1st at 11:59 p.m. local time.
